AILLEURS/ELSEWHERE
Film maker Ines Compan from Association Le Hamac Rouge sent a note concerning the new wave of resistance to strip mining on ancestral lands. The photo above, taken from an article in Pagina 12 (in Spanish) reminding us of the poster for the documentary A ciel ouvert (Open Sky) on this topic which she filmed in the Argentinian high plateaus . A story worth following for those whose interest in the news goes beyond the obligatory daily headlines.

BALADES EN RÉGION: LAUTREC/STROLLING IN THE AREA: LAUTREC
But for other things too; such as the sympathique Café Plùum, on rue Lengouzy, with a play corner for children, its selection of books, its shows, and – oh y es – it’s café, obviously. Rates a big favorite with Ici Graulhet.

MAIS AUSSI, UN GRAND MERCI:/BUT ALSO, A HUGE THANK YOU:
To Garage Pons of Graulhet and its staff; to the Mayor of Labessière-Candeil and his assistant; to the firemen and the gendarmes, and also to the many passers by who offered their help following a dip into the ditch. It had no serious consequences for the car’s occupants but, without their help, it could have put a serious damper on a precious day off.
